Litter Pick Events

Please find below an updated list of litter pick events. More are being added all the time. Clean up my Community Warrington are holding a free evening talk "Exploring your Carbon Footprint", next Wednesday February 5th, 7pm at St Philips Church, Westbrook, postcode WA5 8UF. Come and learn what makes up your carbon footprint and explore ways to reduce it and help save the planet. Details as below.

Saturday February 1st 2020 at 11am. Meet at Westy Community Centre, come and tidy Westy Park and neighbourhood. Westy Community Centre, Bridgewater Avenue, Latchford WA4 1TA

Also every Saturday 0900-1100 Keep Lymm Kleen meet at Lymm Baptist Church WA13 0AZ for a local clean up of central Lymm.

Tuesday team, 4th February 2020, 2pm-4pm, Old Arpley Rd from the Village Hotel. Meet at 2pm in the Village Hotel car park (at the back of the Hotel), postcode WA1 1QA.

Wednesday 5th February evening talk, "Exploring your Carbon Footprint", 7pm at St Philips Church, Westbrook, postcode WA5 8UF. Please register your place as above.

Saturday 8th February, 10am-12 noon Westbrook Asda Clean up - organised by Warrington Clean Up My Community. Meet 10am at Westbrook Asda, Westbrook Crescent, WA5 8UG (opposite the petrol station).

Tuesday team 11th February, 2-4pm, Sainsbury’s and St Elphin’s neighbourhood. Postcode WA1 2TN. Meet 2pm in the corner of the Sainsbury’s Car Park near Quadrant House (by the lights)

Sunday 16th February, 10am-12noon, Black Bear Park and the TPT from Morrison's supermarket. Meet 10am by the recycling area in Morrison’s Car Park (behind their car wash), this is postcode WA4 6RN, at 10am. We will be permitted to park for the time of the litter pick by arrangement with Morrisons.

Tuesday team 25th February, 2-4pm, and most Tuesdays through the year, Tuesday Team. Updated locations will be confirmed on Facebook and future emails.

Sunday March 1st 10-12 Orford Park, Hallfields Rd. Organised by Plastic Free Warrington. Meet at Orford Park's Car Park WA2 8AG (that to the south-east of the park, not that of the Jubilee Hub) We intend to cover the hedge-foliage line mostly to the east of the park, where most of the litter has accumulated. Litter-pickers, hi-vis tops, bin-bags, litter hoops provided. Bring your own strong gloves, though spares available. Kids under close adult supervision very welcome!

Sunday 8th March 10am-12noon, Tidy Latchford Village. Meet at Latchford Medical Centre car park, 5 Thelwall Lane, Latchford WA4 1LJ

Sunday 22nd March 10am-12noon, Westbrook. Meet opposite Asda filling station, Westbrook, WA5 8UG

Saturday 28th March 11am-1pm - Widnes away day - organised by Keep Widnes Tidy. Meet 10am outside
Wetherspoons, Widnes, WA8 8JS to tidy the town centre.

Saturday April 4th 11am-1pm, Westy Community Centre, Bridgewater Avenue, WA4 1TA. Organised by Plastic Free Warrington. Meet at 11:00 at Westy Community Centre. Friends of Westy Park and Green Spaces will be kindly
hosting us for hot drinks and snacks after the pick!

Saturday 11th April 1030-1230 - Victoria Park to Mersey Way. Meet at Victoria Park main car park, WA4 1DQ, we
will be towards the back.

Saturday May 2nd 1030 -1230 Sainsburys and St Elphins. Meet in the corner of the Sainsbury's car park close to Quadrant house, near the recycling bins. Postcode WA1 2TN

Saturday June 27th 1030-1230 Morrisons to Black Bear Park. Meet by the recycling area in Morrison's car park
(behind their car wash), postcode WA4 6RN.

Safety and Equipment.

When you attend a litter pick, please remember to wear sturdy shoes and practical clothes,
and of course bring your (gardening) gloves. Safety must be everyone’s priority if they wish to take part. Please listen
carefully to the short safety briefing before each litter pick. All litter grabbers, black bags and hi-vis tabards will be
provided on the day. BRING GLOVES
